Is there professional help available for people who can’t stop gossiping? Any support groups?
I have a friend who can’t stop gossiping. More than once she has pitted friends against each other with misinformation and rumors and has caused an untold amount of hurt to others. She appears sweet, loving, and supportive on the outside but she can’t keep her mouth shut. Threats to dissolve the friendship only work for brief periods of time and then the gossiping starts again. Is there professional help for people who gossip? Any counselors that specialize in that or support groups?
First off she’d have to recognize her problem and want help. Then any therapist could help her, and lead her to the proper group therapy when the time was appropriate.
