There are lots of crummy pictures taken with very expensive cameras just as there are lots of great pictures taken with cheap ones.
That camera that you found is a film camera. I prefer digital ones because you can see the results right away and retake the picture if necessary. Also with film cameras you have to keep buying film and then you have to pay to get it developed, whereas with digital cameras you can pick which pictures to have printed.
